PSP…. that thing still exists?
Other day while checking on Amazon i noticed that they had some dirt cheap PSP games... The PSP was one of the consoles I regretted buying, its lack of games coupled with high price point makes it pretty dump. I know there are alot of PSP fanboys who love the crappy remakes and the shoddy puzzle/sports games on it.
Only games i have bought on my PSP so far were bargains, well from a price point of view anyway...lol
Worms
If you imagine getting worms 2, making the general graphics look a tad cheaper and rushed. Then throw in some POINTLESS animated 3D background that makes the FPS cry out in pain. Wasn't impressed, i would have prefered Worms 2 on there, im sure they also took out ALOT of stuff that was in Worms 2 and other worms games in this title... whats the point?
Lumines
Well this game wasn't too much of a let down, it lived up to its word of being a fun music/puzzle game, i am still a tad confused by alot of it but it makes nice beats and has a tetris/columns feel to it...
MGS : Acid
This game is a bit long winded but at the same time a bit short, i mean granted it will possibly take you a minimum of 15 hours to complete if you are <a href="http://www.rapsheet.co.uk/Images/Characters/Manape.jpg" target="_BLANK">doom ape tactic man</a>, but the only reason it takes so long is because its just soooo slow to play. Not that i mind, as im a patient gamer, as long as there is a good reason for me to wait through lots of dialog and action, i will wait... and i think this game was a decent purchase at <£20...
Street Fighter Alpha 3
PSX game with a couple of extra modes and a local wireless mode, why not put an online mode in?
I think i have some other games but they are not worth mentioning. So at this point i was wondering if i should risk buying some more, which i think may be a waste of money... but if it provides SOME entertainment it may be worth it...
I think i REALLY should get the articles section up and running so i can rant about this sort of stuff in there opposed to in here, but its not so im gonna keep ranting.
When i bought the PSP originally i was hoping to have some fun multiplayers online, not on a local wifi network, but online with other players, there are like 2 games that use this... I was also expecting alot of decent RPG games, Suikoden I+II as well as some new PSP ones... Suikoden doesn't look like its getting released over here and all the other PSP offerings are a tad dump, or just crappy remakes, hell i think they even have SNES standard games being re-released.
Another BIG reason why i wanted one was because there was alot of talk of PSX emulation on the PSP so i could play through Chrono Cross or any other PSX games i never got round to playing, but then Sony decide you HAVE to have a PS3 to get access to this stuff... Why not just cut out the middle man and put it on the PSP directly?
Sony want to make money, if they let PSP owners directly buy PSX games im sure they will sell ALOT more, and they may do this in the future, but as a PSP owner for a year and a bit i feel neglected by them and pretty gutted that i wasted so much money on the bag of crap that is the PSP...
I could rant all day but i cant be bothered atm... Most of the people i live with are ill at the moment, including Jen. I think she has tried to infect me too as i can feel the crappy cough coming on. Last Week… WoW : Burning Crusade
WoW was dull and boring, nothing much to do unless you were a raiding nut... the community was spread out and boring, most things were mundane... only fun thing was making a new character...
THEN BAM...
Burning Crusade appeared...
To be fair this is awesome, I mean i haven't really done anything but run round doing quests, but this new expansion has breathed soooo much life back into the game... There are now LOTS of people leveling together, groups of people PvPing randomly round the world, crazy quests, awesome world PvP objectives, new factions...
The new instances are fairly cool too, they require tactics like the 40 man instances although you can do them with 5 people, you dont need to recruit everyone under the sun to have a happy time in instances.
Well ive been playing since 1 day after the expansion was released, this was when my hols from work started, and i managed to get to level 66 yesterday...
Back to work now, we also made some crazy wrap things the other day which i will post up later, they dont look as grotesque as some of the other foods ive put up on here before.
Baptastic + WoW Expansion
Well this week started with the amazing breakfast baguette when our own JF came round to visit us... i couldn't manage a whole one but Jode and JF seemed to polish it off...
Then early on in the week my body decided after 5 years of not being sick due to illness it thought, hey lets just hurl for a laugh... So i had to work from home for a day while i recovered...
Then when i got back to work i was greeted by the worst looking sick in a bap ever, it looked like it had been shot with a shotgun or something, then ruffed up a bit for laughs.
After that baptastic part of the week i managed to play a bit of Eve online on the free trial, i quite liked it however it seemed a bit complex for my tiny mind and i wanted to PvP but apparently im looking at 6 months + playtime to even start that.. which isnt bad.. but also isnt too good when your on a trial.
Also the WoW expansion is apparently out next week so a few of us are off work for a couple of days to have a gaming session on it while its still fun...
Also done a few updates to the Wii Online Alerter, which you can see in the previous posts comments... Alot of other people are making similar scripts at the moment, although they seem to put images and other useless stuff on the page which will just use up all their bandwidth if they have it refreshing constantly 
I think the Wii shortage is gonna stop soon anyway, but glad to hear that alot of people have been able to get their hands on one now, Jode has ordered Warioware so that should be here this wiikend to play on!
Not much to report, unless your a Wii Hunter
As alot of people have been asking for various updates to the Wii updater let me just note down a few things that have changed recently:
- Had to change Ebuyer code, as they changed their Wii page
- Disabled logging feature as it was just excess baggage
- Added Game to the list, although it is not doing a DIRECT selling check, should be fine though
I dont really like Ebuyer as their are just removing any helpfull threads relating to get a Wii unless it comes from them, i would take them off the updating list but thats unfair to all Wii Hunters so i will keep them up there for now...
Alot of sites are currently changing their Wii Pages, so if it pops up saying one is available... but it isn't PLEASE let me know so i can update the script...
Hopefully the Wii should become alot more available over the next month, so hopefully everyone will get their hands on one...
OH and also feel free to post a comment with your Wii Friend code in if you managed to get a Wii!!
BF2142 + Anime Bling
Well due to being fairly bored recently I started playing BF2142 again. For those of you who dont know what im on about it is a first person shooter where you ride vehicles and blow up big ships.
I used to be about 30,000th in the world when i was last playing, although to be fair i only played a couple of hours with Jode and Mez every few days. When i checked the other day i was roughly 100,700th in the world... quite a jump.
I also watched Princess Mononoke the other week as i got it for christmas and i decided to go out and buy a load more Anime films.
Also decided to format my older laptop and turn it into a pure development machine, as i dont want to put anything dev related near the new one. Also on the dev topic i've recently updated the Wii Online Alerter to include John Lewis, if anyone wants anything else added then feel free to comment and let me know.
I'm probably going to add a couple of new sections to this site so i can include my Xfire profile incase anyone fancies joining in on BF2142 or WoW... or whatever else i end up playing...
Finally, while surfing on the net out of boredom i found a website that explains how to mod Guitar Hero and put in your own songs if you feel up to it!
OH and it was Kinky John's birthday recently so happy birthday to him!
New Year + Pokemon Marathon
Well now that its been new year and all the christmas chaos is over and done with its been quite a good year...
Like most people, i did nothing over christmas... well i did play on the Wii quite a bit with Jode, and i did play on Guitar Hero quite a bit, but nothing of any productive value.
We had a fun new year doing our usual drinking session mixed with Guitar Hero and the Wii as well as some unusual free style synchronised dancing...
After the celebrations we awoke to a POKEMON MARATHON, which was quite fun... i even loaded up Fire Red on my DS to have a quick play around and make sure I had some of Jodes pokemon ready to ransom off to him when the new NDS versions of the game come out... Still wishing nintendo would make our Pokemon MMO... that would be awesome!
Anyway happy new year to everyone, and i will now be off to work!
